“From two granite plots in the Coteaux des Épalins (Les Claives and Les Seilles) and aged for 14 months in foudre and barrels, Chappaz’s straw-yellow 2024 Grain Arvine de Fully opens with a deep, intense and concentrated, wonderfully generous and hedonistic bouquet of ripe yellow fruits intertwined with sur lie notes as well as some smoky and saline terroir notes. Full-bodied, quite rich and dense on the palate, this is an elegant but also mouth-filling and persistent Arvine with a sustainable mineral/phenol structure rather than savory or vivacious acidity. This is a serious Petite Arvine that coats the palate with impressive length and complexity. Petite Arvine er i sandhed en lokal drue. Den stammer oprindeligt fra netop Valais regionen i Schweiz, hvor den første gang blev omtalt tilbage i 1602. Vinen er idag kun tilplantet på cirka 154 hektar. Druerne til Marie-Thérèses udgave stammer fra flere parceller, hvor jordbunden er ren skifer. Det giver en vin med udtalt friskhed og syre. Et studie i citrusfrugter, med både lime, grape, og yuzu i den super mineralske og saline eftersmag. En fuldstændig fantastisk oplevelse for de få – stærkt begrænset mængde!!
